Battling foul trouble most of the game, Waverly was still able to defeat Beatrice 56 - 35 in the regular season finale. Erik Evans and Brandon Janssen both found the bench in the third quarter with four fouls. The Vikings led by as many as 13 points in the first half, but Beatrice would eventually cut that lead down to 6 points. Coaches' Corner:
"Our guys played another very good game at Beatrice and the 4th quarter was one of the best of the season. I thought our defense frustrated them, especially in the 4th quarter when they were trying to come back. Dylan's half-court shot at the buzzer to end the 3rd quarter really propelled and energized us going into the 4th quarter. Adam had another good offensive output and Brandon controlled the inside, even though he was in foul trouble. Erik also had to sit much of the 3rd quarter, but Aaron and the rest of the guys played well and kept a nine point lead going into the final quarter. We finish the regular season at 16-7 and I am happy with where we sit going into districts." -- Coach Watton
